EAST SIDE ACCESS

AT GRAND CENTRAL

STATION

New York, NY

PROJECT SCOPE

DGA completed lighting designs in 2010 for the public areas of this new 500,000 sq. ft. transportation terminal complex.  This $10.15 billion project is the culmination of 30 years of planning to bring the LIRR rail access into (under) Grand Central Station. Our services involved the lighting design for all public areas including the main retail concourse (over 250,000 sq. ft.), ticketing areas, connecting passageways, and mezzanine, as well as four 1000ft long platforms located below Grand Central’s existing tracks. The largest single project ever undertaken by the LIRR, the project opened in 2023.
